Biancammare 2024

This is the formally known Vignamare from Nino Barraco, who is based close to Marsala in Sicily. This refreshing and saline white wine is now called Biancammare. The Grillo vines roots reach right to the sea, and many vintages offer a strong sense of salinity, hence the name.

Expect classical finesse alongside saline touches and a nice natural energy. Sicily in a glass!

Production Details: Biancammare is a Grillo from Marsala in Sicily. The vineyard soils are clay and limestone. Nino Barraco practices organic methods in the vineyard and natural winemaking in the cellar. The wine ferments without added sulfites and ages on its lees in stainless steel.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried the 2024 vintage of Biancammare by Nino Barraco, but we hear it has notes of green apple, citrus, stone fruit, minerality, and a saline finish.
