Abendrot 2021 by Koppitsch is a natural wine made in Burgenland with Blaufränkisch, Welschriesling Saint Laurent and Syrah grapes.

Abendrot translates into AFTERGLOW. It’s all about NEUBERG, and the grapes from NEUBERG, the vineyard site on which we grow all the grapes for PERSPEKTIVE. Neuberg is limestone mainly and a tiny big of schist.

The Welschriesling for ABENDROT normally goes into Touch. But this time, we thought it would be cool to have a wider focus (if that is possible at all, to have a wider focus ;) on NEUBERG.
All the various grapes we are growing on Neuberg are inside this very expressive, vibrant, fun but delicate wine. It’s another very true and very authentic Koppitsch wine!
The colour very much matches the afterglow colours before it flips into violet and blue. And the taste is just magical!
