Pépin Rouge is a natural wine crafted by Pépin, in the Alsace region in France. This red wine is made with Grenache , Carignan and Syrah grapes, but it also has a splash of white wine grape Muscat in similar to Patrick Bouju|s "Mol" to lift the body and mouthfeel, although this wine has some Brett giving it a slight, rustic barnyard smell which many enjoy. It’s only on the nose and quite integrated.

Pépin state that "This wine will go well with Italian specialties such as fresh tomatoes, tapas and red fruit desserts. We find notes of stone fruits, with the vivacity of spices raised by fresh pepper."

What is the Pépin wine project?

Pépin wine is a new style of collaborative winery, formed by Jean & Pierre

Dietrich of esteemed Domaine Archilée in Scherwiller, Alsace, as well as wine consultants

Xavier Couturier and Pierre Sanchez of Duo Oenologie. The group work with local growers in Alsace to produce the Pépin range which stands for making no-added sulphite, vibrant and affordable natural wines which are sustainable and reward the growers in compensation very fairly too.
