Chardonnay Arbois 2022 Vieilles Vignes

Chardonnay Arbois "Vieilles Vignes" 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Caveau du Val de l'Amour , in the Jura region in France. This white wine is made with Chardonnay grapes, is taken from old vines in the appellation of Arbois, rather than the other which is Cotes du Jura.

The wine is made is winemaker Sylvain Jacquots winery, which is essentially his garage at the back of the house. This is much more a passion project than big commercial operation, and he farms just 1.5-2 hectares, so these wines are hard to come by! We adore them!

This 2022 is very delightful, especially with a (recommended) caraffe to awake a bit. Slightly herbal (minty?), slightly nutty yet Ouillé (topped up barrels) with a somewhat vanilla cream finish after pops of sharp lemon fruit flesh and grapefruit zest. A wonderful wine with an unexpected, slightly more savoury profile to other Jura producers.

Again shows Sylvain Jacquot as one of the most underrated producers of the whole region!
