Christian Tschida removed the rosé from his portfolio after taking over the vineyards of his father. Legend has it, that later on once his name was more established, he overheard someone proclaim that Christian Tschida probably is not capable of making a rosé wine good, and so does not do one. He took this as a challenge... and we're glad he did because...

.. is an absolute dream! This is a complex, herbacious and nicely salty and savoury rosé bursting full of vibrant berries and peppery touches, plus a chalky element shining behind orange peel, herbs and pomegranate. A true masterpiece of a Rosé that will really amaze the table!
Winemaker's Note
Rosé à la Christian Tschida - the direct 1:1 expression of unique terroir from the
highest and coolest parts of the hill. Blaufränkisch from the chalkiest and limestone-rich plots, picked on 5 different harvest days in order to depict the whole aromatic spectrum, creates a rosé as the purest expression of this ultimate soil type. As straight forward and clear as it can be from red grapes. The result: a wine, as sharp as an arrow-straight laser with plenty of floral spice and the grace of a pink-hued white. Precise and with great finesse and grandezza. This is a concept Christian wants to deepen in the future.
Grapes: Blaufränkisch
Vineyard: Limestone, with islands of high content of active chalk
Making of: Grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed, no maceration. The
pure juice ferments in large barrels with indigenous yeast and no racking. It ages in
the same vessel till being bottled without fining or filtering and no addition of sulfur.
