Andrea Calek is a somewhat legendary natural wine producer from Ardeche ,a sub-region of Rhône in France
One of the most sought-after natural wine producers of the region, Czech born Andrea Calak is known to be very in tune with nature and previously was known to live in a caravan close to the vines.
He trained under local natural wine godfather Gérald Oustric at Domaine du Mazel, and has farmed his 5 hectares in Alba-la-Romaine completely chemical-free since 2007. His partner Stephana Nicolescu joined the project in 2016, and together they run one of the most honest small estates in the Ardèche.
A purist at heartt and offering wines at fair prices too, his popular bottles include A Toi Nous and Babiole. Be sure to finish these zero-zero wines in one sitting, as they tend not to hold overnight.
