Ago by. Podere Ortica is a lovely Italian table red made from Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes. Simple, easy but with some Tuscan soul and a little structure. Ago is great for pastas and pizza.
Production details of Ago: Ago comes from Podere Ortica, a 7-hectare estate in the Chianti area of Tuscany. The blend uses Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Canaiolo and Colorino. The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed and given short macerations to keep the wine light and drinkable. The wine is clarified naturally using the winter cold.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Ago by Podere Ortica, but we hear it has notes of fresh red cherry, plum, dried herbs and bright fruit.
