Tasting Notes for 2Naturkinder Bat Nat 2024

We have not yet tried this vintage, but from what we know, this vintage of Bat Nat 2024 from 2Naturkinder is wild yet playful, offering a lively bouquet of juicy cherry, red berries, and a touch of citrus balanced by fine yeasty and mineral notes. The palate is dry and very fresh, carried by vibrant bubbles and a gentle creamy mousse that enhances its easygoing character.

It is lightly textured with a bit of grip, maintaining a summery, highly drinkable profile underscored by a lightly wild, natural impression.

2Naturkinder

As 2Natukinder who use no added sulphites state: "Less control means there is a bigger risk to fail. But also allows for unpredictable beauty and enables moments of true resonance"

With backgrounds in Jewish studies and philosophy Melanie and Michael worked for science publishers in Germany and the UK for several years before going back to the family-winery founded in 1843. With the 2013 vintage 2Naturkinder was born. They farm about seven hectares of land, mostly close to the winery on the hills of two little valleys.

Depending on their needs the plots are farmed individually: Fine compost if the soil is lacking balance, compost tea and a very low tilling to increase the amount of humus. Diverse greening, viti-forestry projects and homemade brews to minimize the amount of copper needed to deal with downy mildew.

In addition to the MOST EPIC CELLAR ever, going down 2 floors into the ground which feels like something the Dwarves would make in Lord of the Rings, 2Naturkinder also make a Brutal!!! wine, which they were allowed to use the new official gold label for, despite not being a founding member. This is quite unusual, and they are the first and only producer allowed to do so in the Brutal group
