Jordi Llorens
Jordi Llorens, an eighth-generation farmer, ventured into winemaking in 2008 and introduced his first natural wines in the 2012 vintage. This decision was partly influenced by his neighboring winemaker, Joan Ramon Escoda, in the Conca de Barbera region.
Jordi's family has a longstanding agricultural history dating back to 1779, cultivating vines, almonds, olives, and livestock. Engaged passionately in sustainable farming initiatives, Jordi manages approximately 16 hectares of vines across six different locations, producing around 12,000 bottles. His vineyards feature mainly native Parellada and Macabeu grapes, supplemented by some Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Spread across various elevations ranging from 400 to 650m, all on limestone soils, Jordi practices bio-dynamics in both the vineyard and cellar. The elevated positions and proximity to the Mediterranean contribute to a balance of hot days and refreshing nights. Jordi fosters biodiversity by allowing grasses and flowers to flourish, promoting soil health, vineyard equilibrium, and complexity in the wines.
