Marie Bourdon

Marie Bourdon was born in Essonne in 1994 and did not grow up in a winemaking family. She first studied art history and archaeology before moving into restaurant work. After completing a sommelier diploma and spending two years in hospitality, she travelled through wine regions and worked alongside growers for close to a year.

That journey brought her to the Jura, where she chose to remain. In 2016 Marie met Raphaël Monnier and joined Domaine Ratapoil, an experience that became central to her development as a grower and winemaker. 

Marie made her first independent vintage in 2019. Her own domaine began with 1.2 hectares around Arbois (specifically in Cramans), including Chardonnay and mixed plantings of Poulsard and Savagnin. The north-facing parcels sit on soils combining marl, limestone, clay and sand. Vineyard work is manual, with horses used to cultivate the soil.
