Kalkstein Spätburgunder 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Hannes Bergdoll, in the Pfalz region in Germany. This SMOKEY red wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes, grown on limestone soils. 

In the cellar the wine sees 14 days skin maceration with 80 % whole bunches and 20 % destemmed grapes on top  It is then aged for 18 months in old barriques.

Unfiltered bottling with a tiny dose of 10 mg added sulphites, directly before bottling for stability.

This light and fresh red hits great with bursts of wild strawberries, cherries, thyme and a touch of cream and smoke, which gives it a nice edge. Expect soft tingly tannins and perfect acidity. VERY GOOD INDEED!
