Rising Stars of German Riesling?
Seckinger is committed to sustainable wine production and uses biodynamic practices in their vineyards. They are also a member of the "Fair'n Green" initiative, which promotes sustainable wine production in Germany. They are clearly a bright star in Pfalz, already gaining respect and recognition. The winery produces a wide range of wines like Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and more but the winery is particularly known for its high-quality Rieslings, which are made from grapes grown on the slopes of the Haardt mountains. Still, they plant also all around Deidesheim, Königsbach und Ruppertsberg - altogether 14 hectares! Soils are very varied and include mottled sandstone, chalk, and loess.
Seckinger Winemaking Style
The Seckinger brothers do not hide their fascination with the Jura winemaking style, which finds it reflection in slight oxidation in some of their wines. They are also hugely influenced by biodynamics, and whilst they do add some sulphur to a range of their wines (for 'Qualitätswein' branding in Germany, some sulphur at bottling is required! ) their PURE range is with nothing added.
