L’Indigène 2023 MAGNUM is a natural wine crafted by La Maï Wines, in the Beaujolais region in France. This red wine is made with 100% Gamay grapes.

Armed with a nice agricultural nose, a little rustic in the nice way we like, not too much but enough to give it some edge. Little spicy, forest fruits, some cinnamon and vanilla.

L'Indigène in magnum

Structured Gamay like this does really well in magnum: it ages more slowly and evenly, so it is a nice one to put away for a year or two, or to open for a crowd.

How is it made?

Gamay from around Blacé in southern Beaujolais, left on skins for about a month, pressed slowly and bottled with no added sulphur.

La Maï Wines is Maï Lam, a French-Vietnamese winemaker who spent years in the Singapore food and drink scene before moving to Beaujolais. She makes her wines in the same cellar as her partner Sébastien Morin, always with no added sulphites.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
