Sivi

SIVI by Kemtijia Stekar is a delicious orange wine made from Pinot Grigio, in Slovenia. For those unaware, Pinot Grigio (aka Pinot Gris or Grauburgunder) is a pink skinned grape, which when macerated like an orange wine turns a beautiful and unique blush colour.

Expect delightful notes of concentrated apricots, peaches and plums alongside a herbacious touch and vanilla cream finish. DELICIOUS!

Production Details: Located in the Brda region of Slovenia, Kmetija Stekar works with 5 hectares of vineyards. Sivi is a Pinot Grigio made as an orange wine through extended skin contact. The vines are over 40 years old. Fermentation and maceration take place in steel tanks with the grape skins for an extended period. After fermentation, the wine is aged in neutral oak and stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Sivi by Kmetija Stekar, but we hear it has notes of stone fruit, white pepper, dried apricot, honeycomb, and subtle tannin from skin contact.
