Macchiona Magnum 2018 is a natural wine crafted by La Stoppa, in the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy. This red wine is made with Barbera and Bonarda grapes.

Production Process of Macchina Magnum 2018 by La Stoppa

The natural wine Macchina Magnum 2018 from the producer La Stoppa is made with a blend of 50% Barbera and 50% Bonarda (Croatina).

The fermentation and maceration take place for about 40 days in stainless-steel and cement tanks, during which the wine remains in contact with the skins. After this initial stage, the wine is aged for approximately 3 years in large Slavonian oak botti ranging from 15 to 40 hectoliters. Following the barrel aging, the wine undergoes at least 2 years of bottle aging before it is released.

Tasting Notes for Macchina Magnum 2018 by La Stoppa

Expect notes of ripe cherry, dark berries, and subtle hints of dried herbs and baking spices. The palate is full-bodied and firmly structured, featuring concentrated red and black fruit flavours balanced by zesty acidity and a distinct mineral edge.

Marked, mouth-coating tannins support a long, savory finish that lingers on cherry, cranberry, herbal, and slightly minty notes.

Powerful yet balanced, age-worthy and with a rustic, terroir-driven character.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
