Ati by Podere Ortica delivers exactly what you want with a food-ready Chianti, at a very fair price-point too.

We have not yet tried this exact one, but the previous vintage has less ripe fruit, more dried fruit, forest floor vibes, cardamom and a hint if mint or eucalyptus alongside a sturdy tannic structure at 12.5%.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY PODERE ORTICA

Podere Ortica is a small farm in the province of Arezzo, in eastern Tuscany, where wine has been made since 2015. The property covers around 30 hectares, with 7 hectares of vines and 2 of olive trees, and they also make their own olive oil. Only native Tuscan grapes are grown here: Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino for the reds, and Trebbiano, Malvasia and Biancame for the whites.

The idea is light, low-alcohol wines built for drinking. Grapes are hand-picked, destemmed and fermented with wild yeasts in concrete or steel after short macerations. Winter cold settles the wines before summer bottling, with a little sulphur only when needed. Ati is their Chianti DOCG, Ago a Tuscan red, Ade a white from Trebbiano, Agade a light rosé and 3bbolle a pét-nat. We think all of them drink well above their price.
