Colombaia Azienda Agricola
Natural wines are not too common in Tuscany, and Colombaia stands out as being a quality natural wine producer of the region, reflected in a classical style that is neither funky nor unusual. These are classic Tuscan wines, made naturally. Colombaia make use of their older vines some of which are over 70 years old, and farm the traditional varietals of the region such as Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Trebbiano which are farmed over their 4 hectares. Run by Helena and Dante Lomazzi, the estate's wines can be quite rustic and sometimes feature Bretty notes on opening, so a caraffe is advised to let the wine fully express itself properly.
