PALOMO NEGRO by Barranco Oscuro is a red wine made in Granada with Listan Negro grapes.

Production details of Palomo Negro: Palomo Negro is made by Barranco Oscuro in La Contraviesa, Granada in the Alpujarras region of Andalusia. The winery sits at 1368 metres elevation, making it one of the highest vineyards in Europe. The grape is Palomino Negro (also called Listán Negro), a rare variety outside the Canary Islands. The vines grow between 1280 and 1368 metres on lean, stony soils of schist and clay. The grapes ferment wild in stainless steel, then macerate with whole bunches. The wine ages almost a year in used European oak. 14% alcohol.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Palomo Negro by Barranco Oscuro, but we hear it has notes of raspberry, young cherry, bright red fruit and a vibrant fresh lift.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
