OMG! Claus Preisinger has mixed his grapes with his apples to make a co-ferment of grapes and cider, giving a unique flavour profile unlike anything else!

Production details of Sunny Cide Up: Sunny Cide Up is a co-ferment of grapes and apples from Claus Preisinger in Gols, Burgenland. It started somewhat by accident in 2018 when Claus had acidic apple cider in his cellar and a neighbour brought him low-acidity Bouvier grapes. They paired well. The wine is 50% grapes and 50% apples co-fermented in stainless steel tanks, with a secondary fermentation in bottle. 8% alcohol. Claus works using a lunar-calendar approach.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Sunny Cide Up by Claus Preisinger, but we hear it has notes of floral apple, dried garden herbs, spice and an elegant musty tartness.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
