Piroska 2022

Piroska by young producer Joiseph is a fantastic red made from Zweigelt, Spätburgunder and Blaufränkisch, at a great price. Fruit forward and with refreshing acidity. Piroska is a very easy drinking and morish.

Production details of Piroska: Piroska is made by the Joiseph trio (Luka Zeichmann, Richard Artner and Xandl Kagl) in Jois, Burgenland, Austria. They started in 2015 with a tiny hectare and now work nearly five on the Leitha mountain. The blend is Zweigelt, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and Blaufränkisch. Lunar-calendar farming, minimal sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Piroska by Joiseph, but we hear it has notes of ripe red fruit, soft spice, gentle dark berry and a juicy refreshing lift.
