Blaufränkisch Hochäcker by Weninger is a natural wine made in Burgenland, and he Hochäcker site is one of the oldest vineyards in Horitschon. Its stoneless, hard, loamy subsoil is interspersed with iron. This makes it a traditional soil for Blaufränkisch. The vines are 40 years old. Franz Weninger states that this has notes of "Red berry fruit, fine forest berries, delicate hints of cherries, spices and tobacco. Freshly structured on the palate. A complex wine, but not opulent. Dense and extremely close-meshed, therefore easy to store."
