SOS Cuvee Total

SOS Cuvee Total is a natural wine crafted by Oriol Artigas. This wine is made with Pansa Blanca and Grenache grapes, and is the ONLY wine Oriol was able to save from Mildew in 2020. Its essentially La Bella and La Bestia, Rumbera and Rumbero all together. The rest of the SOS range are Negoce from friends like Cosmic Vintyers and Laureano Serres.

Production details of SOS Cuvee Total: SOS Cuvee Total is made by Oriol Artigas in Alella, just north of Barcelona, Catalonia. After mildew wiped out 90% of his 2020 crop, this is the one wine Oriol managed to save from his own vines. It blends 75% Pansa Blanca with 15% Garnatxa Negra and 10% other varieties on granite soils. Most of the grapes are destemmed (around 15% of the Garnatxa stays whole cluster) and ferment in stainless steel with 2 days of gentle skin maceration. The wine rests for 7 months in the same vessel. 11.5% alcohol.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of SOS Cuvee Total by Oriol Artigas, but we hear it has notes of pomelo zest, smoking hay, sea spray, rose hip and a granite mineral edge.
