Iva Merinska wine
Farming just 1.4 hectares of vines, Iva Měřínská is the daughter of a prominent, traditional winemaker from the Moravia region in Czech Republic. For many years, she thought it quite unlikely that she would follow in her fathers footsteps (crushing grapes). A few intense experiences with Qvevri wines & the rise of the low intervention movement cemented her desire to learn the trade fully.
She went to the winemaking university program in Brno & Lednice and now she is making exclusively orange / macerated wines in Qvevri brought from Georgia. These clay vessels are planted in the ground right outside the new tasting room at their winery. Iva's wines somehow retain the playfulness of adolescence while also the growth & maturity of adulthood.
