Melon de Bourgogne is a white wine grape primarily grown in the Loire Valley region of France, particularly in the Muscadet appellation. This grape is also cultivated in other parts of the world, including the United States, particularly in Oregon and Washington.
Melon de Bourgogne is known for producing crisp and refreshing wines with high acidity. The wines made from this grape are typically light-bodied and have a pale yellow color. They often exhibit flavors of green apple, lemon, and mineral notes, with a hint of salinity. The acidity of Melon de Bourgogne wines makes them a perfect pairing for seafood dishes, particularly oysters.
