Christopher Barth Wine
Christopher Barth is a natural wine producer from the Rheinhessen region in Germany, wbho inherited his vineyard when his uncle suddenly passed away, giving Christopher the opportunity to leave his I.T job to work the vines as he wanted, having studied at Geisenheim enology school and been inspired by the rest of the Rheinhessen set of natural winemakers.
Farming Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Weissburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Müller-Thurgau mostly, the wines of Christopher Barth are vibrant, elgant and often crisp with precise balance of acidity, which we admire. There is a Riesling on Volcanic Basalt soil but also the 'Rot vom Grün’ wine, which is a good example of his more experimental side, cofermenting Pinot Gris with Pinot Noir...
