Domaine Pacalet are in Beaujolais, and what we get from them is Nouveau, made with 100% Gamay. The vintage changes every November, so the list above is the one that counts.
The 2023 used carbonic maceration to keep the tannins down and bring out the fruit. We found cranberry, unripe banana, some whispers of herbs and just a touch of white pepper, with more structure than you might expect from a Nouveau and a slightly rustic feel to it. It goes on sale at midnight on Beaujolais Nouveau Day, one bottle per order.
