Greco di Tufo
Greco di Tufo is a white wine grape that is primarily grown in the Campania region of southern Italy. This grape is highly regarded for its exceptional quality and unique flavors.
The name "Greco" refers to the Greek origins of this grape, as it is believed to have been brought to Italy by Greek settlers thousands of years ago. The Tufo part of the name comes from the volcanic soil in which the grapes are grown, adding a distinct mineral character to the wine.
Greco di Tufo wines are known for their vibrant acidity and intense aromas. They often exhibit notes of citrus fruits, such as lemon and grapefruit, as well as floral and herbal undertones. The wines are typically dry and full-bodied, with a long and refreshing finish.
Interestingly, in the natural wine scene Momento Mori make a wonderful Greco di Tufo wine, not in Campania Italy....but in Australia!
