Roterfaden wine
Farming on blue slate soils similar to those found around Arbois Jura, natural wine producer Roterfaden make mainly Riesling and Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) in the Württemberg region of Germany.
After studying in Geisemheim (where winemakers study) before training with Claus Preisinger in Burgenland Austria, Hannes and Olympia returned to Württemberg and started with a 0.5 hectare plot in 2014. Farming sustainably from the start, their wines are considered some of the most interesting Germany has to offer. Which is partly due to their Terroir of unique soil and a warmer climate than most places in Germany.
