Jasmin Swan of Katla Wines produced her first natural wine vintage in 2019 in Bauneberg, then started working from the cellar of German producer Staffelter Hof in the Mosel. But.. she has since then seriously developed her own, very signature style that is almost unmistakably Katla Wines. And despite very low quantities, this has earned her a loyal following around the globe.
Her wines are made from a combination of her own Riesling grown in the Mosel as well as grapes she purchases from producers with whom she has a good relationship, most especially Andi Mann, Niklas Rückrich and Piri Naturel. She now has a cellar in Wöllstein, in Rheinhessen and her wines are in strong demand
With some of her labels featuring drag queens she collaborates with and quirky artwork, the wines of Jas Swan really stand out and the wines themselves certainly speak in the similar unique way. Popular wines include Kiki and Queendom, but the wines change every year - so there is always something new! Jas also is the organiser of Back of the Van, which is a mobile wine fair that occurs as a satellite events next to bigger funded natural wine fairs.

Dolly (1 litre)
Dolly is a Négoce natural wine crafted by Jasmin Swan Katla Wines, in the Rheinhessen region in Germany. This wine in a big one litre bottle is technically a Red-White blend, made with a mix of Merlot, Weissburgunder and Riesling grapes.
Actually, some Katla fans might recognise elements of this wine, as Dolly is the wine/artist formally known as Kiki, just now as a still wine rather than a Pet Nat.
The blend is 50% Merlot, 25% Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and 25% Riesling
Queendom
Queendom 2023 is a Négoce natural wine crafted by Jasmin Swan of Katla Wines, in the Rheinhessen region in Germany. This sparkling Pet Nat wine is made with 40% Regent as well as 30% Pinot Gris and 30% Riesling grapes, which were blended after fermentation. The grapes are sourced from Piri Natural and Andi Mann, including some grapes of Jas Swans' she also grows at Andi Mann's estate.
Queendom is a wine in collaboration with artist and drag icon Pandora Nox from Austria, who won Dragrace Germany and is the first female artist to win it.
Queendom by Katla Wines gave us a nicely bitter, unique quirky approach and notes of cacao touches alongside forest fruit candies, hedgerow and herbacious twists. Really quite a unique flavour profile, as with all Katla wines.
Sigyn 2022
Sigyn 2022 is a Négoce natural wine crafted by Jas Swan of Katla Wines, in the Rheinhessen region in Germany. This red wine is made with 75% Regent and 25% Riesling grapes, so technically a Red/White blend. Bottled with 3g of Residual Sugar (RS), this dark red will have just a little sweetness on the finish.
Jas Swan of Katla Wines states that "Sigyn gives of foraging vibes, conifer, dark and red berries, nutmeg, hints of coffee, and has fresh acidity. Drink slightly chilled. This would make great pairing with any type of game, light meats, tuna, oily fishes, olives, toffee."
