Garnacha is the Spanish word for Grenache. Often peppery, spicy and with a dark forest fruit undertone, this grape works fantastic with pizza and red meats. It is the main grape in most Southern Rhône wines, especially in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where it is typically over 80% of the blend and you will also find it featured in most Rioja wines. Personally we like it made a little carbonic and not too heavy in tannic structure.
