Azul y Garanza makes natural wines at the edge of the semi-desert climate of Bardenas Reales, in Navarra, northern Spain. The harsh conditions of the terroir produce a very limited crop, but of highly-concentrated, small grapes. Azul y Garanza really focus is on fostering biodiversity by planting a wide variety of indigenous plant species, limiting the area occupied by the vines, and keeping the forested areas (home to much wildlife) adjacent to the vineyards. Through biodiversity, the vineyard is more productive and resistant to disease, and the resulting natural wines are unique and full of character.
