Cantina Giardino 'Rosso Amphora' is a magnum of Aglicanico, vinified in Amphora!

Production details of Rosso Amphora: Rosso Amphora comes from Cantina Giardino in Irpinia, Campania, run by Antonio and Daniela di Gruttola. The wine works with old-vine Aglianico from Montemarano, grown on volcanic soils at high altitude. The blend includes some Barbera and Piedirosso alongside the Aglianico. After a long maceration, the wine ages for a year in handmade sandstone amphorae. Bottled with no added sulphur. This is a magnum.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Rosso Amphora by Cantina Giardino, but we hear it has notes of violet, red fruit, blackberry seed, cherry pit and volcanic minerality.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY CANTINA GIARDINO

Cantina Giardino is a true labor of love: Daniela and Antonio De Gruttola began their journey into natural winemaking after witnessing the destructive impact of industrial farming and vinification on the land, wiping out old local vines and traditional varieties.
Now, they’re breathing new life into regional grapes like Aglianico and Volpe Rosa, grown on ancient vineyards nestled in the volcanic hills of Irpinia, Campania. Their goal is to restore a nearly lost winemaking culture, and in doing so, they’ve created some incredible natural wines, including Drogone, Gaia, Paski, and Glu Glu.
