Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Macération by Müller Koeberle is an aromatic orange wine made in Alsace with Gewürztraminer grapes.

Only 800 bottles made and this herbal Alsace wine is AWESOME.

Beautiful wine. Expect Mandarin, wild honey and vanilla vibes alongside that familiar Gewürztraminer herbal 'twang'.

We also enjoyed this wine with popular natural wine blogger Marcel De Cocq, who noted a taste similar to a “Thai Papaya Salad on Melba Toast”! :)

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

WHAT IS ORANGE WINE?

Orange wines are actually white wines, but with a different winemaking process - they’re made by fermenting the juice with the grape skins, which is mostly done with red wines, not white. This extra step adds tannins, flavor, and a unique color to the wine.
Because of the skin contact, orange wines tend to have more herbal, aromatic notes, and they can also have a bit of bitterness depending on the grape, how long the skins are left in contact with the juice, and the vessel used for maturation. Unlike most white wines, they can also feature tannins (which are formed from the skins, which white wines do not use). Orange wines are a style that brings out some really interesting flavors that many people adore for their unique properties, whether easy going or complex.
