Gola 2021

Gola 2021 is a zero sulphite natural wine crafted by Prati Al Sole, in the Emilia Romagna region in Italy. This sparkling wine is made with Spergola, Malvasia di Candia and Uva Termarina grapes, and is really VERY AWESOME!

The reason why, is this sparkling wine has spent THREE YEARS resting with it's own lees in the bottle. Gola 2021 is truly a gem when it comes to the flavour profile too. The whole team was amazed with it's complexity for the great pricepoint.

We enjoyed intricate notes of hay, yellow apple, lemon rind, vegetal touches. Its deep and complex, but also thirst quenching and very drinkable (dangerously so!)

Vinification of Gola 2021:

7-day maceration on the skins. No added sulphites. The refermentation in the
bottle is done by adding a percentage of the same year’s must that has been set aside and frozen. Interestingly, whilst this looks like a Pet Nat (and we previously assumed it was), by having a secondary fermentation it actually is not technically a Pet Nat, but uses the traditional method.
