Here are five bottles we think show a lovely variety of how different natural wines can be, which we know most people would appreciate:
Dluhe Grefty - Alba Rosales
Alba Rosales is a natural wine crafted by Dluhe Grefty, in the Moravia region in Czech Republic. This DELICIOUS orange wine is made with 100% Gewürztraminer grapes aged for 14 days on the skins, allowing this special wine to give off a wonderful herbal approach alongside fine tannins and delightful stone fruit elements. Peachy yet complex. A banger!
Vin de Lagamba - Frauenpower
Made with Dornfelder and a splash of white grape Silvaner, Frauenpower Red is a super fun wine for nibbles on cheese and charcuterie. It actually tastes like a German Lambrusco, and that was the goal from Alanna when making it.
The reason is that Dornelder is a very fruity, but otherwise little unexciting grape, not really favoured for serious wines. Alanna had the idea to make the best of it's fruity characteristic by turning it into a red pet nat. Bravo!
It’s essentially a fruity, light red with a rounded mouthfeel, yet minimal tannins.
Expect notes of blackcurrant, grape, cola, fizzy sweets and lime. Ideal to take to the park.
Porta del Vento - Voria Bianco
Fancy a Sicilian Pet Nat to freshen your day? This Voria Pet Nat Bianco from Porta Del Vento is FANTASTIC!
Made on the top of a windy mountain which keeps the vines cooler than many other places in Sicily, (Porta Del Vento means "door of the wind"), this delightful Pet Nat sparkling wine is easy-going, fresh, salty, citrussy and with a nice mineral touch.
Ideal for the sun, we found this Catarratto wine has a nice salinity running through it alongside hints of wet pebble, lemon rind, mild meadow flowers, hints of subtle melon and vanilla essence. WE LOVE IT!
Meinklang - Roter Mulatschak
Roter Mulatschak by Meinklang is an easy going, fun Austrian red from Burgenland. This wine is juicy, fruity and with some soul for its very fair price - but it remains easy drinking. Roter Mulatschak is a blend of Sankt Laurent and Zweigelt.
This wine is incredible value for money! Peppery Sankt Laurent mixed with freshness of Zweigelt. Blackcurrant and herbal notes form the basis but this is actually more complex than expected for the price!
Andi Weigand + MORE Natural Wine - Forever Young
Forever Young is our own collaboration wine with Andi Weigand! This is a special edition, zero-added-sulphite wine we blended together with Andi in the Franken region in South Germany. ONLY 600 bottles made.
Together with German winemaker ANDI WEIGAND we spent hours blending together a range of different options when we visited him in April, and landed on a mix we ABSOLUTELY ADORE!
Our wine "FOREVER YOUNG" is a fresh, fruity and aromatic white wine is made with 49% Riesling, 49% Müller Thurgau and 2% Muskateller grapes.
This juicy white with both vibrant fruit as well as minerality and very punchy acidity is a TOTAL THIRST QUENCHER - trust us!!
It’s crisp, it’s fun, BUT it’s also mineralic and with vibrant acidity.
Flavourwise this wine is about acidity and on the side you’ll find notes of yummy melon, salt, cucumber, limes, lemon zest and that stoney aspect that makes it more intriguing than you might expect! Utterly awesome, we are so proud to show you this!!
