Pepin Riesling is a natural wine crafted by Pépin, in the Alsace region in France. This white wine is made with Riesling grapes, which are grown on Granit soils and aged in old large wooden barrels.
This Riesling ticks the box with everything you want for the price! Picture perfect Riesling, with not too high acidity.
Pepin state that the wine "to the eye it is yellow of medium intensity with some silver shades. Notes of peaches and apricots, orange blossom, lily blossom, light creamy caramel. There is a great balance between the volume and the acid framework that
manages to hold it all the way through. You can feel the roundness of the
caramel as well as the citrus.A perfect match with cod in beurre blanc, guinea fowl à la Normande and a lemon tart for dessert"
What is the Pépin wine project?
Pépin wine is a new style of collaborative winery, formed by Jean & Pierre
Dietrich of esteemed Domaine Archilée in Scherwiller, Alsace, as well as wine consultants
Xavier Couturier and Pierre Sanchez of Duo Oenologie. The group work with local growers in Alsace to produce the Pépin range which stands for making no-added sulphite, vibrant and affordable natural wines which are sustainable and reward the growers in compensation very fairly too.
