Heideboden 2023 by Claus Preisinger is a premium red natural wine made in Burgenland with a blend of 50% Zweigelt and 40% Blaufränkisch and 10% Merlot grapes, which are fermented and aged for at least 14 months on old Barrique barrels

Production details of Heideboden: Heideboden comes from Claus Preisinger in Gols, Burgenland, Austria. The blend is Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Merlot from the Heideboden appellation on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, where soils shift between black earth, gravel and loam. Claus works 19 hectares using a lunar-calendar approach. The wine ferments in open vats and ages at least 14 months in used 500-litre barrels.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Heideboden by Claus Preisinger, but we hear it has notes of red berry, orange peel, dark roasted elderberry, juniper and warm spice.
