BundSandstein Riesling 2022

BundSandstein Riesling 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Hannes Bergdoll, in the Pfalz region in Germany. This wonderful, very expressive white wine is made with 10% Riesling grapes grown on coloured sandstone. Taken from higher-altitude, east-facing slopes on the edge of the Pfälzerwald (Palatinate Forest) which means the sun pretty much only hits the vines in the morning, thus leading to a later ripening time

Aged for 12 months in neutral old barrels, this wine really kicks ass for the excellent pricepoint - we are seriously impressed!

Expect a slight petrolium kick on the nose, with a whisper of smoke too.

This Riesling delivers beyond expectation on the palate too, being both a bit creamy and perfectly acidic, with soft lime kisses and hints of meadow flowers, vanilla, grapefruit zest and a strong mineralic edge boosted with soft peppery sensations. Truly a bomb for the price!
