Schiefer Riesling 2023

Schiefer Riesling 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Hannes Bergdoll, in the Pfalz region in Germany. This crisp and delicious white wine aged for 18 months in old barels is made with 100% Riesling grapes, taken from a variety of both old and young vines grown on a mix of red sandy soils on black slate, adding nice mineralic elements, alongside citrus kicks and green apple elements. On the nose there is a very cool flinty reduction, which might not be for everyone but we love it!

Schiefer Riesling 2023 Winemaking

This wine sees 12 hours of maceration with fermentation being split equally between both steel tanks and old neutral wooden barrels for 12 months, before another 6 months in tank. Small addition of 20mg Sulphur before bottling
