Nituix

Nuix by Celler Tiques is a natural made in Penedes, Catalonia with a blend of Xarel lo and Macabeu grapes.

Production details of Nituix: Nituix is made by Joan Rubió at Celler Tiques (also known as Cal Tiques) in Penedès, Catalonia. Joan spent 15 years at Recaredo, climbing to Technical Director and introducing a lunar-calendar approach, before starting his own project on family vineyards in 2015. The blend is 75% Xarel·lo and 25% Macabeu. Manual harvest in 15 kg boxes, destemmed and given 5 days of maceration in stainless steel, then ferments with wild yeasts. The wine ages 3 months in French and American oak. 10.5% alcohol, 6 mg/l SO2.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Nituix by Celler Tiques, but we hear it has notes of green apple, lemon, almond and a fine textured mineral lift.
