Domaine Hughes Beguet | Jura Natural Wine

Patrice Béguet farms in Mesnay, near Arbois in the Jura, after a career as an IT consultant in Paris. The estate wines carry the Domaine Hughes Beguet label, including parcels on the Côte de Feule in Pupillin.

Oh Yeah is Savagnin kept topped up in barrel rather than left under flor, from vines at 300 metres on grey and blue marls. Straight No Chaser is 60% Chardonnay, 20% Ploussard and 20% Savagnin, direct-pressed, raised in steel, egg and old oak. Silk Blue is 80% Ploussard with Trousseau and Savagnin. Orange Was The Colour Of Her Dress is 100% Savagnin, six months on skins, and far paler than that suggests.

More from the Jura and the rest of France.
