Hurry… almost sold out!

Mas d’Intras is run by cousins Sébastien Pradal and Denis Robert, who farm 25 holistically-managed hectares across 24 plots in the Ardèche.

What is the Cuvée de la Montagnere?
La Montagnere is Mas d’Intras’s most layered white — a blend of 35%Grenache blanc, 25% Vermentino, 20% Viognier, 15% Clairette, 5% Floréal, from their estate in Valvignères, each variety contributing something different to the final glass. Here the white grapes are all sourced from one Ardèche hillside.

The Viognier and Vermentino adding aromatic generosity and floral lift, and quite noticable in the best way. It also gives off lively notes of pear candies, vanilla essence, thyme and bruised apples. No added sulphites and it shows on the vibrant nose, which is very impressive given the attractive pricepoint!

Rich but not heavy. Aromatic but not obvious. A white that is best with food.
Serve cool, not cold. Excellent with roast chicken, cream-sauced fish, grilled vegetables with olive oil, or aged goat’s cheese.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

Mas d'Intras

NATURAL WINES BY MAS D'INTRAS

Mas d'Intras is a family estate in the hamlet of Intras, near Valvignères in the southern Ardèche, run since 1982 and now by Denis Robert and Sébastien Pradal. They work 25 hectares in 24 parcels on shallow, white clay-limestone soils facing south-east. Some vines are properly old: a Syrah parcel planted in 1969, Grenache from 1970 and Cinsault from 1972.

Grapes are picked by hand, ferment with native yeasts and rest in concrete and stainless steel, with little or no sulphur. The style is about drinkability rather than power: juicy reds with some grip, softer whites, all at prices that make them weekday wines. Isidora blends Grenache, Syrah, Merlot and a little Carignan, aged six months on its lees in concrete. Cuvée de la Montagnère is a white of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, and Ferdinand is a red that has been in their range for over a decade.
