Hurry… almost sold out!

Bourgogne Rouge 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Sextant, in the Burgundy region in France. This red wine with no added sulphites is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes, sourced from Grapes from the Domaine du Moulin de Foulot
Fanny and Damien Gressard in Saint-Gengoux-Le-National  of the Côte Chalonnaise.

These Pinot Noir vines (30 years old) located in the commune of Saint-Gengoux-Le-National, on clay-limestone soil, facing southeast. In the cellar, there is 70% whole bunch vinification in concrete vats with 18 days of vatting

Tastewise, this has no added sulphites but a more classic Burgundy approach, with notes of blackcurrant and vanilla. It will age well, but personally we feel the alternative option by Sextant at this price range 'La Fleur Au Verre Rouge' is a more exciting Burgundy red.

Who is Sextant in Burgundy?

Juilien Atlaber started working for Domain Derain, as legend Dominque Derain's right hand man. The two formed a strong friendship, and over the years Julien started to release his own Negoce wines under the name Sextant. Dominque Derain decided to retire, and Julien Altaber now runs the domaine with his wife and partner Carole Schwab. They run both Sextant and Domaine Derain from the same cellar in Saint-Aubin.
