Occhipinti is a natural wine producer in Sicily, Italy. Arianna Occhipinti actually studied oenology at university in Milan, where she felt at odds with the emphasis on chemistry, compared to the natural style of winemaking she learned from her uncle. Once she returned home, she began making her own wine, particularly from Frappato which was much lighter than the powerful Nero D’Avola most common in Sicily. She decided her style would be one of ‘finesse and elegance and perfume over power’. Popular wines from Occhipinti include Frappato, SP68 Rosso, and SP68 Bianco.
