Production details of Vino di Fognano rosso: Vino di Fognano rosso comes from Paolo Foppiani, whose family has owned the Fognano property in Bobbio (Emilia-Romagna) for around 150 years. The grapes are Barbera and Bonarda, grown on marly and calcareous soils at 250-400m altitude, farmed without synthetic chemistry since 1990. The wine is made with help from Giulio Armani of Denavolo.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Vino di Fognano rosso by Paolo Foppiani, but we hear it has notes of dark cherry, plum, gentle spice and earthy undergrowth.
