Tenuta Macchiarola | Puglia wine
Tenuta Macchiarola is run by former Pharmacist Domenico Mangione, a natural wine producer from the Puglia region in Italy. With 6 hectares of land, around 4 hectares of grapevines are used for his Tenuta Macchiarola production and the rest is sold as grapes to others. With a focus on Primitivo (aka Zinfandel for those in the USA), this domain at Lizzano in the Salerno region on the Western side of Puglia is one of the few natural wine estates in Puglia, as there are not many around.
Popular wines include Tippi, a Pet Nat wine from Primitivo, made in a unique Rosé style and with some unique flavour expressions.
