Palmentino Rosso 2022

Palmentino Rosso 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Vino di Anna, in the Sicily region in Italy. This red wine is made with Alicante, Catarratto, Grecanico, Minnella, Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mascalase grapes.

This wine is produced in a palmento (a traditional building dug into the earth, similar to a wine cellar) in three different batches: the first is a 5-day maceration, during which the skins are crushed with hands and feet; the second is a 100-day maceration in a Georgian qvevri, and the last is fermented and aged in a used oak barrel. The cuvees are then combined and aged on the lees for a year before bottling.

We hear it has notes of cherry and strawberry, with soft tannins and a lively acidity.
