Lelle Ihr Wein!

Like many natural winemakers in Germany, Lelle (Lena-Maria Julier) grew up with the family winery in the Pfalz. She studied and worked in both South Tyrol and Burgenland (with Heinrich winery) before coming back to Eschbach and initiating the change from  conventional farming to chemical-free in her family vineyards.

Lelle now has a deep interest in more holistic approaches, and her philosophy in the vineyard involves gentle pruning and placing as little stress on the plants as possible, as well as a more late harvest to acquire more complexity when combined with her skin-contact favoured method. 

We find her wines to be incredibly expressive, unique, and alive! In fact, we find her wines to be some of the MOST EXCITING IN GERMANY right now... perhaps for not tasting so German in style!

Interesting fact: Lena's partner is Nikolas Juretic in Friuli, Italy - a winemaker we also adore for complex wines!
