Mourvèdre (Monastrell in native Spain) is a small, thick-skinned red grape - a combination which typically produces wines of intense color and high tannin levels. This warm, dry-climate grape requires a lot of care but when done well, Mourvèdre wines can taste of red fruit, farmyard, wild game, and earthy notes.
