Con Barbas Ya O Loco

Con Barbas Ya O Loco is a natural wine crafted by La Salada, in the Penedes region in Spain. This red wine is made with Xarel-lo and Sumoll grapes.

Production details of Con Barbas Ya O Loco: Con Barbas Y A Lo Loco is made by Toni Carbó at La Salada in Penedès, Catalonia, 40km from Barcelona. Toni is also one half of the Mas Candí cava house and started La Salada in 2012 to make wines in his grandfather's style. He is the 4th generation of winemakers in the family. The blend is 75% Xarel·lo and 25% Sumoll, hand-harvested and crushed by foot, given 15 days of maceration before fermenting in stainless steel with wild yeast. No added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Con Barbas Ya O Loco by La Salada, but we hear it has notes of red apple, strawberry, stone fruit, pressed red flowers and a fine saline lift.
